This is a fun super-hero spoof brought to us by Pioneer. It obviously isn't intended to be taken seriously. We have these two space alien fighting androids, who naturally look like cute girls, who are sent to Earth to fight various monsters. In the process they cause more collateral damage than a Marvel super-hero slugfest on steroids, but no-one appears to be bothered by this. The citizens, the police and the military are all cheering on the Hyperdolls as they defeat their monstrous opponents, carving a swath of destruction as they go. When not on duty Mew and Mica (the Hyperdolls) spend their time giving grief to the one human who knows who they really are. The poor sap has a strong sense of responsibility and frequently has to cajole them into doing their job or get their alien commander, who appears as a holographic image above various foodstuffs (initially a pizza), to get the Hyperdolls to do their job.
The two volumes currently out both come with ten minute live-action versions of the show which are pretty humorous in themselves. The first one comes complete with a GRM (Giant Rubber Monster) a la Godzilla.
I wouldn't call this the best thing Pioneer has put out, but as long as you don't take it seriously its a lot of fun and well worth picking up.
